NVQ Qualification


Blyth Valley CVS, in partnership with Northumberland Community Development Network has developed a City and Guilds Accreditation Centre to deliver Community Development NVQ's levels 2,3 and 4. As Scheme Co-ordinators we have establisehd a bank of assessors and adopted many necessary policies, procedures and induction packs for all of our candidates, assessors, internal verifiers and quality assurance Co-ordinators.

We have currently registered approximately 40 learners across all three levels and meet monthly in various locations, eg Blyth Sure Start, Isabella Community Centre and Cramlington Village Community Centre within Blyth Valley.

Most of the candidates progressed from participating in the Community Work Skills Course which covers the knowlege and understanding of many of the NVQ units, for example: -
* Effective working relationships
* Collective action amongst communities
* Developing community organisations
* Equality and discrimination

Feedback from learners has been extremely positive. We are continually looking to support volunteers and trustees within the voluntary and community sector in Blyth Valley in this training and development initiative.
